the two built in compact storage areas Alerter l'administrateur Recommander à un ami Lien de l'article

The front doorway of the home is handsome, featuring a heavy natural wood door inset with stained glass panes and crowned by a transom window. But, first, a visitor has to stroll up the flagstone and brick pathway past some handsome plantings. The shaded front porch is set up for people watching, an Eastport tradition, with a wrought iron loveseat and a pair of wicker armchairs.

The dining room table is compact, too. It can fold-up house when there's fewer guests. And, more storage is tucked under the table top, providing a handy spot to store placemats.

Throughout the home, the two built in compact storage areas, much like those found on sailboats. In the dining area, the banquette seating doubles as storage. On either end are pull out drawers — with hardware that matches the drawers in the nearby kitchen. The cushioned banquette seats lift up, revealing more storage space beneath.

The headlines blared that gangster Al Capone had been jailed, again. A would-be movie star from Hungary was showing off her "world-famous" legs, To preserve it, the Murphys have matted and framed the page. The pale colors of the exterior are mirrored in the interior with its palette of pale understated tones accented with the white woodwork.

Rice’s occupancy permit says he can Alerter l'administrateur Recommander à un ami Lien de l'article

For the past year, as the city waged a legal battle to shut Rice down, it vowed to find shelter for the homeless who had been using Rice’s building.

Rice’s occupancy permit says he can house 35 people overnight, but he often has 150 to 200 homeless in the center, and during the day, they often camp out outside the building, or by the downtown library. At times there are drug deals, urination and defecation on sidewalks and buildings. No doubt, the crisis is real.

But the city, while about to shut down Rice for breaking the rules, seems to be stretching a few of its own. The result is a rushed attempt to stick the homeless in a warehouse without any input from the north side residents who often complain of being left out and left behind.

Harvey isn’t sure that finding a warehouse to park the homeless at the last minute quite accomplishes that feat. At first glance, it’s cleaner than New Life. But it’s also little more than cots on a concrete floor.

The case of the Naud Street warehouse Alerter l'administrateur Recommander à un ami Lien de l'article

While most, if not all, residents left the the Chinatown warehouse earlier this year, the warehouse was still being used by artists as cheap illicit studios.

The case of the Naud Street warehouse  shows how rapidly the perception of these illegally converted warehouses is changing in the wake of the Ghost Ship fire. In Los Angeles as well as Oakland, officials have vowed to crack down on illegally converted warehouses.

“There's not a lot of spaces being built like this anymore,” said Tony Castillo, 36, who creates laser cutting art and is a tenant. “Now it's like this “Hunger Games” fight with all the other people here. We're all trying to find spaces in a totally oversaturated market.”One of those callers claimed to be a former tenant and alleged that the warehouse’s sprinkler system was disconnected and that at least four units had one or more people living in them, according to city records

that ensure they have the basic needs Alerter l'administrateur Recommander à un ami Lien de l'article

The money will help the Southampton’s Basic Banks fund the central warehouse for the near future. It enables SCM to continue to feed people more than 8,000 times each year.Established from funds provided by members of the Barker-Mill family in memory of their father and grandfather, Peter Barker-Mill, the Foundation makes around 80 donations each year across south-west Hampshire.

Tim Jobling, trustee at BMF said: “We’re pleased to offer our support to SCM for a second year in a row allowing the charity to continue providing much-needed help.“SCM are an amazing charity helping those in need who are closest to home. It’s important to remember that our neighbours and those around us may not be as fortunate as us, and it’s charities like SCM that ensure they have the basic needs many of us take for granted.”

Christian organisation City Mission (SCM), which provides emergency clothes and food to the city’s needy, will use the generous donation from Barker-Mill Foundation (BMF) to fund the basic bank warehouse for the next two years.

discotheque of the summer season Alerter l'administrateur Recommander à un ami Lien de l'article

According to an interview with the Pilot’s Mal Vincent shortly after the club’s opening, Ruffin explained the name is a mixture of two of his favorite places on the east coast: Ruby Red’s warehouse, a sing-along establishment in Atlanta, and Peabody’s Bookstore in Baltimore.Ruffin and Kassir spent the last winter traveling up and down the east coast and even jumping over to Europe to visit the top nightspots, bringing ideas back to their clubs.

On May 26, 1967, former Virginia Beach lifeguards Ed Ruffin and Nabil Kassir opened Peabody’s Warehouse on the corner of 21st St. and Pacific Ave. in Virginia Beach. The building was formerly an automobile repair shop-garage, but it quickly became the most popular discotheque of the summer season.

Inside, a bandstand with a stained glass backdrop created a multicolored effect to compliment the overhead psychedelic lighting system that changed to the beats of the music. It attracted crowds of teens.
