cost-plus pricing model aimed Alerter l'administrateur Recommander à un ami Lien de l'article

The owners of the local grocery store chain told the World on Sunday that two stores would be closed because of pressure from other chains and an ongoing price war.The warehouse Market is the only grocery store in that part of Tulsa. For most area residents after it closes, the closest grocery stores would be a group of stores clustered near each other in Sand Springs, including another Warehouse Market.

Residents who live “along the Sand Springs Line,” as some call the area, were already planning to meet at Grace United Methodist Church on Tuesday evening to talk about new sidewalks. After the closing of the Warehouse Market that sits a half-mile or so up 49th West Avenue from the church was announced, they decided to talk about the closing, too.

City Councilor Vanessa Hall-Harper met with the residents at the community meeting and told them the chain had told her Wal-Mart was running them out of business. Those two stores are at 1750 Aspen Ave. in Broken Arrow and at 19 S. 49th West Ave. in Tulsa. The Broken Arrow store is a Cox Cash Saver, which is part of the chain’s experiment with a cost-plus pricing model aimed at better marketing its discounted goods.

The closing of the Warehouse Market on 49th West Avenue will leave the neighborhood west of downtown Tulsa without a grocery store.

Sportsman’s warehouse Holdings Inc. is planning to bid for as many as 80 percent of Gander Mountain’s stores, said the people, who asked not to be named because the discussions are private. Sportsman’s Warehouse is still deciding whether it would keep the Gander Mountain name on those locations or run them under its own brand, the people said.

Gander Mountain filed for bankruptcy on March 10. Gordon Brothers and Hilco Merchant Resources agreed to act as opening bidders in a late-April auction “to facilitate a seamless sale of the company as a going concern,” Gander Mountain saidon March 30. The company said at the time that it was still in talks “with a number of interested parties.”

Jess Myers, a spokesman for Gander Mountain, declined to comment on potential bids. Karen Seaman at Sportsman’s Warehouse didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

Midvale, Utah-based Sportsman’s Warehouse has almost 80 stores in 22 states, mostly in the western U.S., with some in the mid-Atlantic region. St. Paul, Minnesota-based Gander Mountain’s locations, more than 160 in 27 states, are concentrated in the east.  per day entering the property Alerter l'administrateur Recommander à un ami Lien de l'article

The size of the building, which included a huge warehouse, offices and apartments, brought fire companies from neighboring counties to assist, Eppler said.

The business, located at 205 Pine Road, has more than 40,000 square feet of cold storage, freezer and repacking space and expanded recently, according to its website.

Neighbors said the business has been booming in the past few years. Richard Traister, who lives next door on Pine Road, said he sees 30 to 40 trucks per day entering the property.

The size of the warehouse brought a huge response from neighboring fire companies, including from Atlantic, Burlington, Ocean and Gloucester counties, Eppler said.

hutters was replaced by vertical Alerter l'administrateur Recommander à un ami Lien de l'article

Calling a past century pseudo warehouse “a strange style” is architect  diplomatic way of understating “the quirky, elaborate, freestanding building” he was recently asked to renovate in Richmond. There is more – internal divisions for the master bedroom were affected by a wall of ’60s-style wooden shutters, and there was a stumpy stone wall partition built of big stones brought from Sydney that looked like remnants of an ancient ruin.

As well as reworking the layout to make it into a liveable and modern three-bedroom family home, and removing many of the over-the-top features “while keeping the goodies”, Xuereb, director of Richmond’s DX Architects, ramped up the industrial premise by adding another gantry in the apex of the main living space.

One wall of the shutters was replaced by vertical cedar boards, part of the original stairwell was kept, part was replaced in another position, the ground floor became engineered oak over the former concrete slab, and the kitchen swapped places so that it now sits in a neat alcove.
